Mike & Jen Feighny's History
Well you see it all started way back in Laramie, WY in 1965 when Michael Shawn Feighny was born. He was a sweet, rough and tough boy living in Laramie, WY, Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Bentwaters, England, Las Vegas, NV and then finally settling down in Greeley, CO until June 2005 when we moved to Loveland, CO. In 1975, while Mike was living in Las Vegas, not too far away at the Air Force Academy base, Colorado Springs, CO, Jennifer Ann Johnson was born. She too moved around a bit as a child from Colorado Springs and Westminster, CO to Green Bay, WI and finally Fargo, ND where she stayed from 1st grade all through high school. Then she was off to Grand Forks for her undergraduate career at the University of North Dakota. After graduating she moved briefly to Londonderry, NH, and spent a year in Hilton Head Island, SC before moving to Greeley in 1998 for her graduate work at the University of Northern Colorado.
You see it's here that their paths cross....but not too soon. Not until 2002 did Jen & Mike meet, due to the very sly and cunning work of our most favoritest
friend, Samantha. You see, Jen & Samantha had met a year earlier as Samantha was
starting her graduate work under the same advisor (Dr. Jennifer Clarke), and she
had an interest in bikes. This is what brought her to Mike at the bike shop.
Samantha ended up working at I-bike and decided that maybe Jen & Mike would be
good for each other...just for a "nice, nothing serious, relationship." Well
things went a bit further than that, and fairly quickly Mike & Jen fell in love.
Only a year into their relationship the ties that bind were given the ultimate
test when Jen's brother, Kevin, whom Mike had yet to meet, was murdered in
February 2003 while he lived and worked in Tempe, AZ. Mike was a rock for Jen's
whole family throughout both funerals (AZ & ND), the court trials, the everyday "life-after" and "new normal" occurances and adjusted to
the new "unpredictable" Jen. Love really does help heal.
In December of 2003, Mike proposed to Jen at a trendy bar in, yep you guessed
it, Fargo, ND! They were married at Wild Basin Lodge in Allenspark, CO with a
spectacular winter mountain wedding on December 5, 2004.
In May 2005, Jen was lucky enough to be offered a job -- not only in Colorado,
but in Ft. Collins! So in June 2005 they bought a wonderful new house (bye bye double-wide!) and moved to 4189 Florence Drive, Loveland.
In September 2005, traveled to France to ride the Alps for his 40th birthday! After he returned he started at his new job with Dr. Rick Mellin as an oral surgeon's assistant. 
On July 27, 2006 our lives changed forever as we welcomed our new baby son, Ian Michael-Johnson Feighny to the world.
